Indian
Railway is the the largest railway
organisation in the world . Its
operations are divided in Six
Zones employing more than one
million personnel. This system
was developed for Northern Railway
Diesel Engine Maintainance Shed
to track the history of Loco Engines,
Fault Logging, Reporting and Analysis,
Spare Parts Consumption details
and the Performance Analysis. |
| |
Diesel
Engine History Management.
|
A
complete history with bill of
material of all the engines is
maintained in the system. A separate
job card and a logbook is maintained
for each Diesel Engine. Any repair
job done or any replacement of
spares made is maintained in the
system.
|
Fault
Analysis Management. |
A
complete computerised system is
designed to do the analysis of
the faults or brakedown of the
engine. These faults are tracked
down from the history of that
particular engine, and are added
to the database thus making it
a knowledge base expert system.
A complete analysis is done to
prepare a performance chart of
all the engine distinctly.
|
Stock
Analysis. |
Any
spare part, which is used in the
repair of a particular engine
is recorded and a complete analysis
of the spares consumed engine
wise is made possible. This also
helps in calculating the engine
wise cost of maintainance as well
as engine wise price performance
ratio.

| MIS |
A
powerful MIS is designed which
generates useful reports and analysis
for decison making of higher management.
